Summary

What was the key to sparking the North Stars to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1981 -- hint, it took place Feb. 26 in Boston Garden -- and how much does the team's loss to the Islanders in the finals still bother Lou Nanne? The former North Stars general manager goes into detail about the North Stars' run to their first finals, including his favorites stories from that spring. Louie also recalls how he convinced Dino Ciccarelli's father that his son should sign with the North Stars.

time.

0:52.3

And that's when we, you know, had a huge fight that did again some or so I think we've got to make a statement,

0:59.3

but we go ahead and do it.

1:07.4

They were locked in.

1:09.5

So we had the site starting about the six-second mark with Bobby Smith, and by the end

1:16.9

of the game, I think we had five guys on the bench, and they had six guys on a bench.

1:20.8

And we ended up losing a game, but that really turned it around because then we went

1:24.9

in the playoffs.

1:25.7

We had two games in Boston.
