Welcome to the MetsPod.

I'm your host, Connor Rogers, joined as always by my co-host, Joe DeMayo.

And Joe, the week that was was an interesting one for the Mets.

We record one game into the series in St. Louis. Mets were looking pretty good to start the year.

They completely tumble for about three games after that, and our podcast never felt more dated.

And then they picked themselves off off the mat and win the final three against San Francisco. So a little bit of a rollercoaster ride for the Mets, but all in all, rock solid so far. How are you in the early portion of this baseball season? Oh, just dealing with the ups and downs, Connor. I mean, what is it? Thursday, the season might as well have just been over. Like, just pack them up. Let's head to the NFL draft and let's get the football. Soto injury, a couple losses. A lot of things happened. And then they just turned the corner the last three games in San Francisco. And it seemed like Sunday was going to be the game that they just

didn't show up against Logan Webb. Yeah. There was just going to be, all right, they split.

They got out of San Fran West Coast. We know how that has historically gone for the Mets.

But the comeback in the eighth inning, and I'll tell you, I didn't want to pinch it with Luis

Terence. I specifically said to my TV, just let Jared Young bat. I don't care if it's a lefty. They send up Luis Terence. He comes through and the Mets just rally for five runs off of the Giants bullpen. And what could have been a very miserable episode of the Mets pod and turns a, okay, I think we're okay here.

Yeah, it was a gutsy win. You know, when you look at it from a perspective of, you never want to

call something a scheduled loss, but on a 162 game season, there are lightly scheduled

losses, whether it's against some of the best pitchers in baseball, whether some got, like your

bullpens. We've seen, you know, whether some got, like your bullpens.

We've seen, you know, the Mets, the final game against Pittsburgh. They just ran out of arms. It feels like the Mets should have won that game. But sometimes you just run out of arms and you need to think about the bigger picture across 162. And that was a gutsy win for the Mets. To go after the Giants' bullpen, it felt like they had new life once Webb came out of the game. I think the story so far of the rebound after the tough couple losses in a rojo is the

surprise elements that have lifted them up while Soto's been out.
