So I was driving around the greater downtown Nashville area today on the way into the office.

And I thought to myself, we are less than a week away from what I call game week protocol.

Maybe your mind doesn't work like this, but my mind works like this.

My entire life, as long as I've been a fully functioning adult, even before I was in

the college football media business, my entire world revolved around college football season. So if you're

having a terrible week in the middle of March, you're just having a terrible week. But come fall,

you're having a terrible week. Tuesday, I can't make it better for you, nor could I make it better

for myself due to factors

outside of my control.

But game week protocol means there's always that light at the end of the tunnel, that Saturday

light.

And if you believe in week zero, and we do around here, contrary to some rumors on the internet,

next week's that week.

So your Wednesday can suck next week, but you know good and well, you got Iowa State, Kansas State to bail you out.

They may be playing it halfway around the world, but it's great.

It's a college football, good thing, maybe the best of things.

And no great thing ever dies.
