This is episode three of my Joy series, and I'm your host, Melanie Stroud.

I'm sorry that I waved around this little treat of a Joy podcast and then was gone for almost two weeks.

That wasn't very fair, but in my defense, my youngest graduated from high school in Arizona.

And then after that, I brought my oldest and my grandbaby to Georgia for the second week.

And so that's why I haven't been around much doing this podcast.

But I don't feel bad about it because being with my family

brings me a lot of joy and that's what this is all about, right? Way is to find joy in our life.

Now today is a doozy. It's like Ned Ryerson in Groundhog Day, right? When he's, when the main character steps in the water.

And he steps in it like a hundred times, right? Because the day keeps repeating. And Ned Ryerson always says,

watch that first step. It's a doozy. Why am I saying this? Oh, because this podcast is a doozy. That's right. Anyway, this podcast

episode is the reason that I couldn't do a joy podcast for the world. After I took the happiness

course at Harvard and all of these things and I was ready to do a generic podcast for the world,

I felt like, no, you can't.

Because if you want to feel the most joy on earth, you have to have the Holy Ghost.

Because the Holy Ghost is what brings Christ's love to our life.

And that's where I feel comfort and direction and chastisement

and the peace that only Christ can bring into my life.

And he tempers me.

The Holy Ghost helps temper me so that I'm not so snarly.

And I'm basically just a happier, better person when I'm yoked

with the Savior. And that can only happen when I have the Holy Ghost with me. So the Savior is ready

to hand us all of these things all the time. But in order for us to receive all of these blessings, we have to be
