Today, how exercise helps us find happiness, hope, and connection.

Here's something I've found interesting about my journey hosting this show.

I've now done more than 150 interviews.

I can't believe it was some of the world's most interesting thinkers,

many of my favorite authors.

We've covered everything from the origins of human consciousness to the invention of the bicycle.

And yet, as far ranging and disconnected as our subject matter may sometimes seem,

consistent themes have emerged.

One example, the idea that life is a team sport and creativity is fundamentally a collaborative act.

That's something I discussed with Annie Murphy-Paul, Arthur Brooks, and Malcolm Gladwell.

Another topic that's of great personal interest to me is our emerging view

that there are essentially four pillars of health.

You know what they are.

Eat well, nurture your relationships, get a good night's sleep, and move your body, exercise.

I discussed eating well with Dr. Tim Specter,

whose book Food for Life caused me to eat way more mushrooms and fermented foods.

I still refer to that book often.

The value of relationships and community has come up countless times

with guests like Lydia Denworth and Surgeon General Vivek Murphy.

But exercise, that's one topic that has eluded us.
