privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement. And I am just so glad

that you're here today. Thanks so much for joining me.

Hi friends, it's Sally Clarkson and I am just so happy to greet you at the end of this

fourth of July weekend. I suppose some of you will be listening to it at a whole different

time, but I wanted to do a podcast today, a quick one because I have my Nathan in town

and Joel is coming tomorrow and Joy is here and of course we're going to see if we can

visit Sarah in the midst of everything that's going in our lives. But I realized I hadn't

done a podcast for tomorrow. So many of you said you enjoyed it when Joy and I did a

fun one a couple of weeks ago, I thought we need another friend, Joy, right? Well, I'm

very happy to be back. Oh, it's so much fun. I just can never get enough of my kids when

they're here, but today, you know, I've been collecting words in my 52 words this year,

but I chose this word today. I'm chose the word joy because J-O-Y, because I felt like

in the midst of so many serious things going on and lots of heaviness this year, I wanted

to celebrate this word because in my new book, help I'm drowning, finding whether in the

storms of life with grace and hope. I realized that a big part of that was being able to

grieve. What was grievous? That how you'd say the word, but learning how to have a whole

new perspective. So we're going to be talking about joy today, but I wanted to catch you

up for where we are because I think that all of us would agree that life never is quite

tame. I heard somebody say recently that adulthood is saying things will be calmer next week
