She's been covering text since the early 1990s, first in the Washington Post and then

later the Wall Street Journal. Interview interviewing many of the leading figures in the field,

including Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Ted Surrandos.

She's often been called Silicon Valley's most feared and well-liked

journalist, but in recent years she's moved to Washington, D.C. where she's expanded

her coverage of politics.

Her recent conversations with Stacy Abrams, Hillary Clinton,

and now Senator-elect John Fetterman,

are all worth checking out.

They feature her trademark no-nonsense style of interviewing.

Given that Swisher sits at the intersection of tech and politics,

she seemed like the exact person I wanted to unpack this week with.

So on the first half we discussed the midterms, the state of the GOP, the role of social

media and politics, her contentious relationship with Elon Musk, and how the

Tesla founder is unwittingly destroying Twitter.

On the back half, Swisher shares why she turned to journalism in college, the early days of covering the internet,

and her kinship with late Steve Jobs.
