Thanks for joining the podcast once again, Jose. How is life in Texas?

Oh, it's going quite well. Yeah, the lockdown stuff has been loosening for the past few months and things are going back to normal.

I mean, you do see some people all masked up and stuff, but generally speaking, things are going the way they should be.

Though other states are not doing so well in the U.S., obviously.

I hope we continue down that pathway of returning to some sort of normal, but I fear that

we might have a dark winter and they're going to lock everything down again.

That's my feeling.

Unfortunately, time will tell.

So the last time I discussed the border issue was with left-wing author Todd Miller.

Today we'll be looking at it from a contrarian dissident right conservative point of view,

as you can sort of paint yourself.

Perhaps we can start with the piece you wrote for a substack on Mexico.

You write about how cartel power is growing and creating

insecurity on the border as well as within the U.S.

In fact, recently Chile warned that Mexican cartels were attempting to set up shop in their

country.

You've also written about the tens of thousands of Haitians that are now coming to Texas.

I've kind of lost track of it. I read that, you know, like 10, 20,000 Haitians are are now coming to Texas. I've kind of lost track of it.

Now I just read today on like 80,000 might be coming in.

So you're observing the situation from ground zero in Austin.
