Well, last episodes was chapters 3 through 5 of Joshua, and the Israelites took their first steps into the promised land, and it was a spiritual experience to say the least. God went before

the current generation, Israel 2.0, as Susan affectionately calls them, and parted the Jordan

And then finally, last episode, the Canaanites reacted by melting with fear, and we learned a lot about

1:28.2

what that really meant. All right. In Chapter 5 continued from last episode, the conquest of Canaan

begins with the mysterious stranger. Joshua 5 verse 13. Now, when Joshua was near Jericho,

he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him

with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, are you for us or for our enemies?

1:53.1

Neither, he replied, but as commander of the army of the Lord, I have now come. Then Joshua fell

face down to the ground in reverence and asked him,

what message does my lord have for his servant? The commander of the Lord's army replied,
