Over the past couple of searchlight programs we have been looking at the dividing of the promised

land. After coming out of Egypt, God told Israel to move into the promised land and enjoy the abundance,

But that generation feared the inhabitants of the land and never possessed the land that God had promised them.

The next generation, however, believed God and Joshua led them into the promised land and conquered it.

As we join John today, he is describing the final division of the land among the tribes.
