Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

As we have been studying through the Old Testament here on searchlight, it seems as though it was taking forever for Israel to come into the promised land, but they finally made it.

They made it because a generation of people simply believe the promises of God and moved into the territory that God had promised them.

On our last Searchlight program, we began looking at how this promised land was being divided between the tribes.

The division of the land has some interesting insights and applications for us.

With the continuing story from Joshua chapter 19 here now is

Chapter 19 is Simeon the second lot came forth to Simeon and And there, verse one goes on to say, inheritance was within the inheritance of Judah.

Now listen here.

Simeon, his property was actually surrounded by the tribe of Judah. This led to a huge problem.

Judah was a prominent tribe, a powerful tribe, an important tribe, and they were on all sides of Simeon.

So Simeon, as you go through the history of Israel, Simian essentially disappears.

He's swallowed up. Oh, there are still men who are Simeonites, but their territory becomes very fuzzy and indefinable.

They were swallowed up by Judah.
