Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

Here on searchlight we are going to be conquering territory and possessing land. This is because we are studying through the book of Joshua

and learning what it means to possess that which God has given us.

Today we are in a verse by verse study starting with chapter 12. Let's join

Pastor John and see how Joshua's story speaks to us.

Joshua chapter 11. Soul verse 23 Joshua, that the Lord said unto Moses and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel

according to their divisions by their tribes and the land rested from war.

As we have talked about a number of times before,

this Joshua is a type, an illustration of our Joshua. Jesus. Jesus is the Greek rendering in English form of the

Hebrew name Joshua. And this Joshua in the Old Testament led the people of Israel into the

promised land. The promised land is a picture a type of the spirit-filled life where there's

fruitfulness grapes that were as big as bowling balls a land that flowed with milk and honey. Oh, there's still battles to fight and wars to

wage in the spirit-filled life. But it's a grand life. It's a great life, it's a good life.

It's the abundant life.

And we have seen how Moses was unable to lead them in because Moses is a type of picture a symbol of the law and the law can't

bring you and can't bring me in to the spirit-filled life. That's the role of Jesus who leads the way. And we've talked about Egypt
