It seems to me that the Moses-Joshua transition sets up the Elijah-Elisha transition, and then later in Israel's history, there will be another two prophets at the Jordan River, and one of them will say, I would not know who it was, had not the one who sent me to baptize, said, the one on whom you see the spirit come down and remain, you know, he it is who will baptize in the spirit and fire. And there you have the new Elijah,

you know, transitioning to the greater prophet.

Sam Omadi, Jim Hamilton. Well, guys, here we are after 63 episodes, which I don't know how many hours

that is, probably 40 or 45 hours of talking about Moses's masterpiece, right? The Torah, Genesis, Exodus,

Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. We are finally, finally on to the next section of Scripture.

We're starting, Lord willing, the book of Joshua today, chapters 1 and 2. Okay? Is that right?

We're on the same page? You didn't plan for something else? Okay, good. I have a few introductory

questions before we kind of get into the nitty-gritty of the chapter. So just very briefly,

where are we again in the story? Because there's going to be a few weeks separating between when

the last Deuteronomy episode releases and when the first Joshua episode released. So just give us

a very brief previously on Bible Talk segment.

The Israelites are on the plains of Moab looking into the promised land ready to go in and

slaughter the peoples that are living there and take over ownership of the land.

And our main character has died. Moses is gone. Moses has died. Well, the Lord isn't our main character

but you understand. The main human character has died. Okay, who wrote Joshua? Joshua chapter 24, verse 26, says, and Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God.

I think a lot of scholars would probably say that could just refer to what he has communicated in chapter 24.

I'm inclined to think that it indicates that he wrote the whole book and that the book of

Joshua was included with the Torah of Moses.
