We open on the inky blackness of space, punctuated only by tiny specks of glowing light that might well be stars.

All of a sudden, yellow writing flies out of nowhere.

YouTube News the podcast! It announced with a John Williams score humming behind,

and then begins a long track of text, floating at a slightly diagonal angle.

It explains that there's a problem in the galaxy with trade disputes or something, or people

are yelling. I don't really know what's in it. But the main thing it comes to say is that it is

the greatest day of the year, the day where we celebrate the greatest space-based movie series

of all time, Star Trek. That's right,

it's May the 6th. And let me just say, may the 6th be with you all. And welcome to a special

sci-fi edition of YouTube and ease the podcast with me, your host, Benedict Townsend.

Now, when I say sci-fi edition, what I mean is that nothing will be different. It's just a

regular episode. But I will be punctuating our stories and our chats with little references to George

Lucas' opus, that is, Star Trek. And honestly, you'll be rushing to that subscribe button

faster than Chewbacca on his quad bike in episode three when he remembers he's forgotten to pay his

gas bill. It's one of the

most unpopular subplots in the film series, but something I'll never forget. So everyone,

raise your hands and separate your fingers into that V shape. As we all say, it's time to do the
