Wanted to start though from Oklahoma and I think I read that you got your

started music around the age of 19 when you went to college. If I'm not mistaken, how did that whole

process for you? Because I think I read you were playing sports and then you kind of swish and

kind of took kind of music. What was that like? I did, man. I grew up definitely didn't

foresee myself ever playing music. I grew up playing sports my whole life. I wanted to play college

basketball since I was a little kid and that was my plan and I got to the end of my senior year

and I don't know if I got cold feet or what that I was like, I don't really want to do that anymore.

All my buddies were going to universities and I felt like, man, I'm going to get left out.

So I scratched that, went to Oklahoma State and wound up picking up a guitar. I'd had one for a

long time that I couldn't play cord until I was probably 19. That's kind of how it started, man.

I guess the turning point I went to the concert at the Tumbleweight is William Clark Green and I saw

him up there and I was just in my head. I was like, man, that'd be the coolest thing ever. And

somehow dude, it's all worked out. So there's no real, make it sound easy. Yeah,

I was, where's plays guitar? Like you've been playing longer than you have.

Right. It was, my family's all musicians. I was just not, but I could go to family reunion

and there's people playing like instruments. I don't even know what they are when I was a kid.

So I come from a music family, but I didn't realize like that was my thing until college, I guess.

Where you always kind of into the country, country rock kind of thing. Yeah, dude, I grew up,

like I didn't grow up listening to like Waylon and all those old old guys. I mean, obviously,

I've gone through phases, but I grew up probably just listening to the country music of my time.
