I had not known God at all, and I just got down on my knees one night, and I prayed,

if you save my mom, I will give my life to you.

And I didn't even know what I was saying.

After the stage four diagnosis, they put her on a trial drug,

and sure enough, after the second

treatment, we noticed that it was working on her.

And after the fourth treatment, she was clear of cancer of stage four melanoma.

It was a promise made to God before that miracle that really changed Josh Manson's life.

Welcome in, friends. I'm Jade McCarthy. Great to have you along here with us as we continue

this seven-week series on Sports Spectrum. I once was. And really just inspiring and encouraging and faith building for us to

hear these stories from all the different athletes that we've spoken to throughout the course

of this series. And now it is their Stanley Cup champion, of course, in Josh Manson, who joins

us to reflect more on that time when a promise that he made,

that God delivered wound up changing the course of his life.

Well, great to have Josh Manson here to talk more about this moment in his life when he decided

that it was really about God and not about him,

right? And I guess I just want to start, Josh, because you spoke about how this was a

commitment that you made, should your mom be cured of cancer. And then you fast forward a little bit. She's cured. And yet it takes

someone else coming into your life for this to really happen. Like what was this all like for you

to kind of go through that period of time? Well, you mean the time from when I had given, when I had made that promise to when I gave my

life or when I met my wife and kind of came full circle to me.
