Hey everyone, today's guest is the brilliant and amazing Josh Gad, who you might know from the book of Mormon,

The first is from Laura to Jerry, who we called with Tig Nitaro, and here it is.

I just finished listening to the episode with Tig and Jerry's situation sounded very similar to my own, only from the other side.

I'm recently married to my complete opposite, and we now have an extremely stable relationship,

but for the longest time it was trial after trial.

I am very introverted and often couldn't handle her boisterous personality.

While she enjoyed our deeper conversations, she was mostly interested in gossip and more shallow topics that I couldn't stand.

It didn't take me long to realize how different we were and how different she was from who I always imagined my perfect partner to be.

As lonely as I was, at the time it was disheartening for me to think of settling for someone less than perfect.

I liked her, but we had innumerable differences, and our fair share of personal growth to experience, before I could see us as a long-term couple.

After several rough patches over a few years, we split up and moved away, but we always inexplicably missed each other.

After plenty of time spent as friends and a lot of personal growth, we decided to give it another chance.

It wasn't until I took the time to love, understand, and appreciate her differences that I could find true interest, even though I used to think of us as temporary.

Now that I have fully embraced our differences, I can't imagine a more interesting and fulfilling relationship.

This isn't to say that Jerry should stay with him. It's up to his boyfriend to want to change, and learn how they can embrace their differences and work together.

But if anything can save the relationship, I'd say it's a genuine effort to understand and respect each other through open and honest communication.

After all, it's our differences and unique experiences that make the world an interesting place to be.
