Hello and welcome to the TIFO football podcast. I'm Joe Devine and today I was joined by a very special guest Josh Franceschi, lead singer of the band You Me at Six.

Josh is also a great huge big football fan, he's an Arsenal fan And he played in the FIFA tournament that the Premier

League set up back in April of 2020. He was the last left standing celebrity entrant,

entrance entranti. You know what I'm saying? And then he went out against Dwight McNeil,

who it turns out it was very good at FIFA. So I spent some of my afternoon watching that. In fact, I spent about 45 minutes watching that. And then I'm pretty sure I forgot to ask him about it. So that's a good start. But things we did talk about, why he's an Arsenal fan. Growing up, watching Arsenal with his dad. Also, we talked a little bit about the intersection between music and football culture.

We talked about Thomas Rositsky, who is a friend of Josh's, and what else do we talk about?

And we talked about politics as well, and the sort of intersection of that with music and with football and whether it inspires his writing, and Marcus Rashford came up in the conversation.

It was wide-ranging. I really enjoyed doing it. So thanks to Josh for attending.

in all the places that you would listen to it but uh you know whatever i'm sure everyone that's

listening likes music and football and i just feel like that conversation doesn't does they

they don't cross over as much as they used to. I'm keen for a dialogue to begin

or to continue if it was happening somewhere else and I wasn't listening to it. That's the main

thrust of my interest here. But hey, also a thing you could do, there is no intersection. I don't

really think between music and football on the athletic, but there is a football and a great deal of high quality some of it long

form some of it tactical analysis of your favourite teams i.e most teams so there are dedicated

writers who are who are as I say dedicated to individual Premier League teams. You get the, you get the dedicated

coverage. You've said dedicated too many times. Don't say it again. Don't say it again.
