Oh, oh, that's a big never single. Back in 1980, Justin Fashiono's over the shoulder

volley, an absolute screamer from the outside of the box, was the goal of the season.

Fashiono was the first black footballer to command a £1 million transfer fee.

But he was a first for another reason. In 1990, playing for lower ranked clubs in the tail end

of his career, he stunned the footballing world by coming out. In the words of the front page

of the Sun newspaper, which broke the story, he confessed to being gay.

The reaction was appalling, including from his own brother, John, who said at the time he wasn't

even sure he could play or share a change room with Justin anymore. And he reckoned other footballers

felt the same. He's come out publicly and said his sexual preferences.
