0:47.1	half of Joseph Smith history. And I looked through my list of friends and people who owe me favors.
0:52.7	And I found the exact person I want to talk to about this. We're going to interview today. One
0:59.2	of the church's foremost experts on this part of this section of church history, the 1820s. His name
1:06.0	is Dr. Mike McKay. Welcome Mike. Thank you. One of the kindest, most faithful people you will ever
1:12.8	remember me and he is brilliant. I know Mike, you worked at the Joseph Smith papers project, right?
1:19.4	Yeah. Yeah. How long did you do that? A little over three years. The earliest period of Joseph
1:24.5	Smith's revelatory production is what I worked on at the Joseph Smith papers.
1:28.9	The book that got me really hooked on Dr. McKay was a book called From Darkness Untalide. He wrote
1:33.8	that with Dr. Garrett Durkma, who's also going to be one of our guests soon. Joseph Smith's Sears
1:39.1	Stones was another book. And I've recommended that to many students who say, I want to know more
1:43.6	about Sears Stones. I'll say, well, there is a book for you, Joseph Smith's Sears Stones.
1:48.0	That's just one of the ways that God reveals his word to his prophets. I was so interested in that.
1:54.0	Like, how does a single item become the mechanism that brings forth God's word? And so I'm really
