Dr. Craig Jordan Peterson has shared the platform with you and we've discussed that interaction

in a previous podcast. You can check that event on YouTube. He's the author of the well-known book,

Twelve Rules for Life, and he is professor of psychology at University of Toronto.

Recently, he's been wrestling with his beliefs about Christianity after pondering them

during a prolonged illness. But Bill, I want to reflect back to 2018 when that event occurred

with Rebecca Goldstein and Dr. Jordan. You still get reaction from that, don't you?

Oh yes, I think that's a fairly popular YouTube video because of his prominence.

He attracts a lot of viewers and we had a really great dialogue I thought on the meaning of life.

If I think back on that, the difference between us was primarily that I was asking

what is the objective basis for meaning in life?

Where I think he was more concerned with how do we find meaning in life?

So I was concerned with whether or not there really is an objective meaning out there to be found

and he took the approach well assuming that there is such a thing, how do we find it?

And as you can imagine, those two approaches are quite complimentary

and so I tried to encourage him to look for the foundation of objective meaning in life in theism.

He just did a podcast interview with Jonathan Peggo, professor Peterson said,

what you have, quoting Jordan Peterson now,

what you have in the figure of Christ is an actual person who actually lived plus a myth.

And in some sense, Christ is the union of those two things.

The problem is I probably believe that but I'm amazed at my own belief and I don't understand it.
