And I guess one of the things that I think is so great about the show is called the opposition,

even though it's basically the mainstream misinformation facts that you traffic in.

We're fully aware of the contradiction.

It's sort of what 2018 is. We were trying to create a show that was sort of emblematic of this Trump wave and this new element that was existing in our culture, which was

anti-mainstream, anti-facts, anti-reality in many situations. And I think an ideology that

builds itself up against something, even if it's not for something. I think the Trump administration

is a great example of somebody who himself and the administration sees himself as a victim

and under-attack and on the fringe, but's the most mainstream thing you're going to get.

And so it's sort of where we live. We are the trolls of television. We are the opposition.

But it's funny, though, because in watching the show, since you started, it started to take a real

shift as a possibility of a Trump presidency seemed to become more and more evident.

Yeah, I think like when I was at the Daily Show chronicling sort of the reality of the Trump

campaign and what have you, and as that became more and more reality, like these sources that

we satirize, these far right, the Info Wars, the Bright Barts, those became more and more legitimate.

And I think you also see Fox News as an example of something that's
