In 2006, a former schoolteacher John Mark Carr confessed out of the blue to the 1996 strangulation of John Boney and graphic sexual detail.

On August 17, 2006, Thailand authorities arrested John Mark Carr, a 42-year-old American teacher.

He had been living in Thailand on the land after facing child pornography charges in the U.S.

Car had been emailing a Colorado professor and was making incriminating statements about his involvement in John Boney's death.

The Boulder District Attorney's Office wanted to charge him with murder.

He was extradited back to the United States and brought to Boulder, Colorado to be a reigned for her murder.

A reporter asked, I am with the Associated Press. Can you give us a brief statement?

Carr replies, I, I love John Boney and she died accidentally.

A reporter asked, are you an innocent man? Carr says no. What happened? Carr replies, um, her death was an accident.

So you were in the basement? Carr says yes. The reporter asked, can you tell us about your connection to the Ramsey family?

Carr says no, he cannot comment on that. How did you, or how did you get into the basement? Again, Carr says no comment on that.

Reporter and how, how do you feel now? How have you been treated? Carr says I've been treated okay.

Asked, how long had you known John Boney? And again, he says I have no comment on that.

Here are some other statements made by Carr. Carr says I was with John Boney when she died. Now this is not technically a confession but more of an admission.

He did not say I killed John Boney just I was with John Boney when she died. Another one of Carr's interesting statements and this of course is in regards to John Boney.

He says it's very important for me that everyone knows that I love her very much that her death was unintentional that it was an accident.

Then the September 4 2006 issue of People magazine claims they have an exclusive jail house interview with John Mark Carr.
