Hey everybody this is Hal Herring backcountry hunters and anglers podcast and

blast. I wanted to record an intro to this podcast with Jonathan Wilkins of

Black Duck Revival because Jonathan and I got to talking and kind of wandered through

a whole lot of subjects before we got back to who he was and what he does, which is one of the most

interested in parts of this whole podcast. So Jonathan is comes out a

little rock Arkansas. The outskirts are there anyway, and he is a waterfowler and kind of subsistence fishermen down in the big delta country on Arkansas Delta and he has refurbished or restored an old

building there that was last a church as a base for his some

guiding that he's doing and it's just a it's a very unique situation that he's

got there around Brinkley, Arkansas with his waterfowl

guide and sort of kind of experiential guide and really into that amazing white river cash river Arkansas Delta world.

So Jonathan has also been writing for outdoor life and he covers his own

his own blog black duck revival dot com he's got some

Instagram presents going on with all of this he is a cook and like I said a guide and sort of a teacher of folks who want to learn some of that country that waterfowlen and fishing and cooking check out his work on outdoor life. It's about not wasting anything

from Waterfowl. I learned some things on this podcast. I had been he and I he

also was a friend of Hank Shaws and he and I were talking about well not so much for him but for me that transformed the way I use ducks and geese

and has kind of reinvigorated my life in hunting waterfowl, which I was getting

away from a little bit because I wasn't using them in a way I felt that honored the animal and life I was taken.

So this is a wide ranging conversation and Jonathan keeps coming to it with my wealth of life

experience and books and knowledge and education and thought

and just plain thinking about things and then a whole lot of practical hands-on.
