Summary

Is there more to life than we can see? Writer, director and film producer Jonas Elrod discusses his documentary “Wake Up.” At work one day, Jonas suddenly started seeing angels, auras and ghosts. Perplexed by his new ability to experience the supernatural, he set out on a soul-seeking journey, looking for a deeper meaning to his life. In the film, Jonas documents his spiritual exploration to find larger truths about the universe, inviting us all to accept that there is more to this life than meets the eye. Jonas’ then-girlfriend, Mara Evans, joins the conversation to discuss her initial skepticism of his supernatural powers. Jonas and Mara are now happily married.

0:53.9	godfaring town in the south. In his mid 30s he was living an ordinary life in New York City with his

1:08.1	Thank you very much. So glad you're here. I just want to preface this by saying I understand that
1:17.2	your intention in doing the documentary, your intention in coming forward with the story, is not to
1:25.5	convince people to believe you or to not to believe you, but it is what? You're right. I'm not trying
1:32.3	to convince people. I was a documentary filmmaker for this happen otherwise I might have tried,
1:37.3	I don't know, interpretive dance or something, but it was a very trying process of document.
1:43.4	So you were a filmmaker before. So you're just an ordinary guy. Whatever that means, yeah, but I
1:51.6	mean I was a normal working stuff out of New York trying to make my way in filmmaking. This kind of
1:56.9	landed in my lab. Okay, what happened? I was finishing work on my first documentary and it was the
2:04.4	last night of the shoot. Okay. And it's like 11 o'clock in San Francisco. I'm labeling tapes and
2:09.3	charging batteries in the room got really cold. There was a light that appeared in the corner of
2:13.9	the room and what kind of light? I mean, it was just a light. This popped in the corner of the room
2:18.9	and then lights started pouring in and then geometry started coming out of the walls and spirit started.
