Before we begin I want to say a few words about the recent passing of former Carson

podcast guest and comedy legend Carl Reiner some of which I wrote in a post yesterday

on Facebook Carl Reiner was extremely kind and generous to me.

He was a guest on the podcast three times. Last month he recorded with me by phone

for a little more than an hour which is something I will always be grateful

for.

At 98 years old Mr. Reiner was still very active writing books and of course still hilarious.

Two other times I went to his home

to record in his living room in Beverly Hills.

There he shared stories from his amazing career,

including going on with Carson,

as well as your show of shows. The first time

Mr. Reiner and I recorded together was back in November 2013 that same day and

this is before the podcast was even released it was even launched. that same day

day unbeknownst to me he phoned his best friend for 70 years

Mel Brooks telling him he should be a guest on my podcast and that it was quote a good time.

At 3 o'clock p.m. the following afternoon I found myself sitting across from Mel Brooks

in his office in Culver City, California, all because of Mr. Reiner's generosity.

That was quintessential Carl Reiner, prayers to his family and friends.

And now, this week's episode. I knew this is where comedy was.

Goni Carson changed my life twice.

It was just like a dream.
