me and like give me advice on my life and just like provide me with a perspective that makes me feel like I'm connected to something in the world. It's John Cozart. I love this guy, this man. He is the greatest human ever and I think you're going to fall in love with him. If you don't already know him, he's fantastic. Let's get into not too deep with John Cozart.

1:19.0

I'm so excited. John Cozart's here. Hey guys. Hey! That's my favorite people. Also you have the greatest laugh of all time. I love people with great laughs because it just makes me so happy. I think we should create like a list of like best laughers on the podcast. Harley Morenstein has one of the greatest laughers of all time because it sounds like a ten year old girl giggling inside of this like monster of a man and it's amazing. Yeah.

1:48.0

So I have some really you know burning questions for you great great great and then later on we have some questions from the internet that they are very very excited to know your answers to sweet. Let's jump into this. Let's do it. Pickles question mark. Huge.

2:04.0

Huge. Huge pickle guy. Yeah, but not like sweet. Yeah, they have to be big. Not the. You know the little pickles that are sweet. Oh the cornichon. Yeah, they get you and they're like prickly. They're kind it's like they have perpetual goose bumps. Yeah.

2:19.0

There's sweet. Nobody wants it. So I'm so happy to hear such a fully formed opinion about it. It's like something you have to defend in the South. Yeah, because you're from Texas. Yeah. Yeah.

2:31.0

Okay, so are you a very big proponent of Southern food? Do you have a big opinion on like what's good? What's not good? It's generally if it's Southern food, it's good because it's not good for you. So like you're covered in that way. Right. Yeah. So all I love barbecue and but it's like it's so weird out here because it's like would you like this vegan ribs? And I'm like well not really.

2:55.0

But but I do like ribs and then there's a little judgment there. Have you found good Southern food in Los Angeles? No. No, yeah, I haven't. Okay. If anyone listening, that was a great Southern restaurant. Please let us know.

3:08.0

What's your favorite Southern comfort kind of food? Diana and I were in Austin recently and we just went to town on some brunch like brisket and all of it. It was. Yeah, anything barbecue is good, but specifically with Austin, it was tacos. It was Mexican food. Oh, yeah. And they get like the taco scene in Austin is just crazy. It's good stuff. That found so yeah, I can I can yeah, take so you went to college in Austin. I did. Yeah, I went to film school.

3:36.4

Wow. I know. I feel weird to say that sort of, but I feel like I didn't even go to film school. I went to like improv practice. And that's like that's what I remember about college. Same, same. Yeah. What was it like going to college in Austin because my I guess direct associations with Austin are my experiences at South by Southwest, right?

3:54.2

Which is just like drive vomit everywhere. Yes. So it's like really dirty, but like the but but it's like right on the capital of of tech. Right.

4:03.7

Texas. So it's like a lot of conservative things happen in the capital building and they just pass all these laws and right next to it is the University of Texas, which is ultra liberal. Wow.

4:13.4

And so it's like this dichotomy. It's great. So before I, yeah, before I got to Austin, I was in, of course, the rest of Texas, which is not liberal or progressive. Right.

4:22.4

And so it was great. It was like, it was like four great years of just sexual exploration and questioning everything I've ever known and loved. That sounds like this is the forward to your book. That's

4:34.2

my four years of sexual exploration.

4:40.0

Mayburn, I shot guns in Texas for the first time. And then we both cried afterward because we hated the experience.

4:46.0

Really? Yeah, we shot them with these sheriffs that were like, we went to Prada, Marfa. And then like went to this really small town near it for the show that we were doing this travel series.

4:55.6

And they had like the producers had a shoot guns and we just hated it every second. We're like doing it for the show, but like clearly like both of us are shaking.

5:03.2

Mamrie's literally crying on camera while she's like trying to do it. It felt like a very Texas experience in a weird way.
