It is Friday, November 22nd, 2024. Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day.

Number one, Johnson gets the green light. Number two, Tulsi Gabbard's

nomination puts the Senate Republicans in a bind. And number three, Buddy Carter emerges as a contender

for the Senate seat in Georgia. Let's get into it. An amazing top this morning by Melanie Zanona about Mike Johnson's Marjorie Taylor Green wooing.

Marjorie Taylor Green is expected to vote for Mike Johnson for Speaker of the House on the floor in January.

What a coup for the Louisiana Republican. Green has accused Johnson of having

aided and abetted Democrats in the Biden administration destroying our country. She slammed

the speaker for failing to shut down the government in an election year to win a fight with Democrats

and suggested Johnson as part of the Ukraine, make Ukraine great again movement.

She's called Johnson ineffective and weak and basically said everything you can about Johnson.

Now seven months later, she has a subcommittee gavel about to be in her hand.

She's expected to have the gavel for the Doge subcommittee on oversight. That's the corresponding

subcommittee for Elon Musk and Vivek Ramoswamy's efforts to cut government funding.

Now, Johnson, let's just reverse here for a second. Johnson got into the job during an extremely chaotic time. We know that in the House Republican Conference. He has had some missteps. We've chronicled all of them, but Green was one of the people just a couple months ago to vote to remove Johnson from

office after he passed the Ukraine funding bill. But Johnson has wooed Green behind the scenes after

she MTG grilled Johnson on a number of topics during last week's leadership candidate forum,

including how the
