The final week of the Johnny Depp v. Amber Heard trial felt like a sprint. The week started still in Amber Heard’s case in chief. Then to both Depp’s and Heard’s Rebuttal witnesses and finishing with closing arguments on May 27, 2022. The Jury is still out and we will see when and if they render a verdict in the coming days. One of the looming factors in week 6 was the clock. The Court gave each side 61 hours and 15 minutes to try their case. During the final week, Heard’s lawyers were fighting for every minute of trial time, something that carried through closing arguments.

Week six also brought out the sassy witnesses and it became clear how much the internet impacted this trial with three witnesses in Depp’s rebuttal that connected to the legal team because this case was being televised.  Really interesting stuff happening in court.

And this is being recorded while we are still on verdict watch. The jurors went home on Friday

0:14.7

before the Memorial Day weekend after deliberating just about two hours. It would have been wild if they

0:20.0

come back with a verdict. I didn't really expect them to, but wouldn't it have been crazy? So we

0:25.2

are waiting to see. I don't know if there will be a verdict before this episode comes out or not.

0:30.2

If there is, I will try to do a little update to tag onto the episode. But if you are not

0:35.8

following me around social media, this is the time warning. Now is the time when we are on

0:42.0

verdict watch at the Emily D Baker all over the internet. I can't believe this trial's over. It

0:48.3

has been 100 years and three seconds all at once. There is so much that happened in week six

0:54.0

because not only did we finish Amber Hurts case in chief, we had another motion to dismiss,

0:58.6

we had other motions, we had witnesses get boardiered, we had clapped back like tick tock worthy

1:04.8

moments. We had a two full rebuttal cases and then closing arguments which are getting their

1:10.6

own episode. Don't you worry closing arguments deserves its own moment. It's my favorite part of

1:15.9

any trial for all of you who have found me this podcast and my YouTube channel during this trial.

1:22.4

Thank you. It has been a tremendous pleasure and an honor to get to kind of talk through this

1:29.2

trial with all of you. It's just been absolutely my pleasure. So thank you for choosing to spend

1:35.9

weeks and weeks and weeks with me talking about this case. Let's break down everything that

1:41.8

happened in week six. For those of you that might not have had the time to watch, you know,

1:47.2

gavled, gavled coverage of this case, which is why I do these breakdowns. So now it's time for

1:54.3

a breakdown. Emily, are you invoked? No, not nearly that good. Never gonna get it. Never gonna get it.
