Hey, everybody, it's Matt.

This is the 10-minute Bible Hour podcast where we are working through

0:22.0

the book of John, which we're going to talk about John today, but we're also going to talk about

0:26.5

Isaiah today, because this is an Isaiah part of John. But first, a quaint story. I used to teach

0:35.2

college classes in Zambia in Africa. It was a really cool gig. I missed the

0:40.4

students. It was such an interesting, different environment. It was really fun going back and forth.

0:46.3

Well, I should not say it was fun going back and forth. One way that I went back and forth was

0:50.8

brutal. I would go from basically Yellowstone, Jackson-ish, Wyoming,

0:55.8

down to Atlanta, Georgia, and then I would take a flight on Delta from Atlanta all the way to

1:01.2

Johannesburg, South Africa. And let me tell you, the Mercator projection, the way we normally

1:07.3

see the map of the world, it is a great big fat lie because that is so much

1:12.5

further than it looks, and it looks far. So I get there, I'd be exhausted, spend a day in Johannesburg,

1:18.9

and then the next day you'd fly a lot further up to Losaka, Zambia, and then you'd drive out

1:24.9

into the bush where the college was. It was just a crazy thing to do again and again. I did not enjoy that version of the trip very much. But there's another version of the trip where sometimes is more economic or whatever to route through Europe. And it was more broken up because you'd have several legs of the trip, but what I liked about that is I could just go

1:45.1

look at history stuff in Europe. And the bummer was that I was alone. So I'm in all these

1:50.1

great places just by myself with my little backpack, tootling around, looking at things, being in

1:56.9

awe, having no one to tell about it. And on one such trip, I was in Rome. I went to the Vatican

2:03.1

City. That's somewhere I've gone a lot. I really like Rome, but it's kind of weird being there

2:07.6

by yourself. So I went to Vatican City. I went to St. Peter's, Basilica. And then right there

2:13.3

adjacent to St. Peter's, not on the Vatican Museum side, but on the other side, they had a special

2:18.9

display that week of the history of the Bible. I went in there, and they had a Gutenberg press,

2:25.4

and you could actually work, they had a working version of it. You could work the press, and I printed
