I watched a television program this week that made me very happy. I don't see a lot of TV that makes me happy anymore. I see some good TV from time to time, but it's usually sad good. This was happy good. It was just good, good. It reminded me of the stories that I used to read and follow when I was a kid about noble knights who would try to do the right thing, even when it was costly or hard.

0:41.3

That kind of storytelling has been out of vogue for a while, or at least it has been until the last few weeks when this show I'm not going to tell you the name of came out.

0:51.4

You can go figure it out, you're smart.

0:53.2

I'm not going to recommend the show because

0:54.8

it happens in a very gritty world where there is very real darkness. And there are a few scenes

1:01.0

in there that if you, I told you what the name was and you wouldn't watch the show. Like, for

1:04.5

example, at the beginning of episode two, you'd be like, I cannot believe that man who does

1:09.0

the Bible program recommended this because look at what is

1:11.6

taking up the majority of my screen right now. Look at that. How can that, why is, when is it over?

1:17.7

Oh, my goodness. No, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying this is a perfectly wholesome program that I

1:22.8

watched, but in a way it was. And here's why. Because there's a good night. And he's a hero. He's not perfect.

1:29.7

He doesn't know everything. He's not the best at being a knight, but he has integrity. He understands

1:34.8

the point of being a knight, protect the innocent. And he was mentored by a not so great night,

1:41.0

a compromised night. But the one thing that compromised mentor old knight got right

1:45.6

is he passed along the good stuff about being a knight, the light. He passed that along

1:50.7

to his young protege, and he somehow didn't pass along all of the icky stuff about his character.

1:56.8

And so then this young knight, he goes and wanders into a den of great darkness, a medieval-style tournament filled with compromised nobles and compromised knights who do not care about things like integrity.

2:11.2

And they operate in the shadows and do things that ought not be done.

2:15.4

And along comes this simple, basically homeless night who

2:20.1

proves to be a ray of light and truth and goodness in the midst of this dark place. And

2:25.6

what do you know? The darkness can't help but notice. And it's very threatened and irritated

2:31.6

and upset by the presence of this character who, though imperfect,
