And I am Paul Sheer in this podcast where we look back on films that are supposed to

be classics and we asked the question, are they really that good?

Or are they just remembered that way?

I of course am a film critic.

I write for the New York Times.

And I'm Paul Sheer just a lover of film, a lover of John Wick and a lover of gold coins.

And today we are talking about John Wick.

But before we begin, it's a little bittersweet because we had planned recording this episode

before we found out about Lance Reddick.

And Lance obviously has a very big part of the John Wick world.

We get to see him just a little bit here.

But you know, he's somebody that I've worked with a lot over the last handful of years

and is just an incredibly kind, loving and also hilarious person.

I was saying to a friend this weekend that he brought as much gravitas to silly comedy

as he did to drama.

And you can see in John Wick, even with the small amount of time that he's on screen, it

really is attention getting.
