All right, guys, we've got a special guest on the podcast today.

His name is John West.

He is an author and filmmaker and he's the vice president of Discovery Institute in Seattle.

So he has actually written or edited 13 books and he's directed 12 documentaries. So

he's got a new book out right now. It is called Stockholm Syndrome Christianity,

why Christian leaders are failing and what we can do about it. And so this book really delves into

a lot of the subject matters that we talk about specifically on the show. But it comes because

he used to work for and send his kids to

and historically Christian University that he saw slowly, slowly, slowly, move away from

biblical orthodoxy and then orthopraxy and just started doing things that were completely contrary

to what we see in the Bible. We do talk a little bit at the beginning about the homelessness issue

that we have here in this country because again living in Seattle, he's right there in the thick of it. And so we talk a little bit about that. But then when we get into the discussion of the book, okay, what is Stockholm syndrome? What is Stockholm syndrome Christianity, at least in his parlance? And then we looked at some of the causes in terms or the symptoms, I guess you could call them. So some of the symptoms being like, hey, we're merely human, we need to unhitch from the Old Testament. We definitely get into a

discussion of Andy Stanley. We also talk about secular scientists and also people that are

Christian scientists, Francis Collins, who's one of kind of the main villains, if you will, of this

book. And then how we've capitulated to culture as Christians to the sexual revolution, to the LGBTQ plus revolution, but also on the issue of race. And then we spend a little bit of time towards the end talking about, okay, so what can we do about all this? So it's one of the better books that I've read this year.
