0:00.0	Hey everybody. This is Richard Deich, and welcome to the sports media podcast. My producers are Patrick Antonetti and Sean Cherry. Two guests this week. First up, the regular on this podcast, John OrandRand from the Sports Business Daly and Sports Business Journal.
0:22.4	And we have a discussion on NFL viewership as we head to the almost the one-third part of the season, what we can extrapolate from the numbers, why the league is absolutely overjoyed at this point, even though the numbers are down.
0:40.5	We go a little bit into NBA viewership, although I'm going to do a major podcast coming
0:45.5	up in the next couple weeks on sports viewership overall.
0:48.1	So I'll get a lot into the NBA on that one.
0:53.0	And so John and I, with some viewership talk, and then that's followed by Stan Van Gundy,
0:58.1	the former coach, of course, in the NBA, now working as an excellent analyst for Turner Sports on their coverage of the NBA.
1:09.3	Stan also does some stuff for NBA TV as well. And we get into
1:14.1	Stan's experience in the bubble, what that was like, spending time with his brother. Jeff Van Gunny,
1:19.6	of course, is the lead analyst on ABC's coverage and just finished up the NBA finals. And then
1:26.6	Stan and I get into really what I thought was an excellent discussion just about
1:30.3	being public about the nexus of sports and politics and race and social justice.
1:36.5	Stan Van Gundy is one of the most public people, certainly on his Twitter feed,
1:41.4	when it comes to discussing these issues.
1:45.1	And I was just curious about why he's been so public, how his employer sees it,
1:52.2	just sort of how he thinks about that nexus.
1:55.5	And that was a really interesting discussion.
