Father, thank you, thank you for this opportunity. I just need your help now and you are so beautiful and come when we need you so much and I need you tonight because this lesson is simple and I'm just going to ask you to take it and speak to my heart and our hearts and bring it home for us at the beginning of a new year at the at the time

when we we get a fresh start a blank page to start filling in I just

prayed that you would just help me with the little truths

that you've given me in your name. I pray. Amen. I've never preached this message.

This is a message I wanted to preach to you because I know that this is a

week where you talk about new beginnings, fresh start. And so I thought I would share with you a practice that I have in my own life.

It's a practice I've done now for over 20 years.

The last week of the year I set it aside just for time of reflection, prayer, and re-evaluating my

year. And then I take my calendar and I literally go over my calendar not only day by day, but hour by hour.

Every day I go every hour and this is the person I met there and this is what I was doing here.

And as I go through the calendar I just keep my legal bag beside me and I write down things like,

wow, that was a good day.

Oh, this was a, this this I didn't do well here. This was I would like to have a do over here. Do you ever have times when you want to have a do over?

I just I put things in different cases. when you want to have a do over?

And I just, I put things in different categories of times where I really sense that there was

a real blessing of God on my life, the times when I felt that I was living too much for myself and I mean I go

through a very through it takes me it really takes me the week I just evaluated I one of the

things I do is I take every special thing that Margaret and I did during that year

and I put it together and then

one night during that week I pulled her aside for dinner and I sit down with my list and I go through

everything we did all year that was very special.

And it's just, it's a time for me to reflect,
