My name is Josh Howard, and today we're responding or replying, I guess, to a question that came in from a viewer about Zachariah Chapter 14.

So if you're not familiar with Zachariah Chapter 14, this is one of those kind of pivotal chapters in eschatological discourse. It's also one

that's a tricky passage. As much as we like to make bold sweeping statements about passages in

scripture, there are certain passages that I think are due a little bit of exegetical humility. When

Martin Luther approached this passage, for example, he said he was not quite sure what the prophet

was aiming at in Zechari 14. So again, I think being a little humble in our approach to these things is always helpful.

But this is a major passage, specifically when it comes to pre-millennial thought and

a millennial slash post-millennial thought and the differences therein. Pastor John

MacArthur at a shepherd's conference, I think it was back in 2023. He spoke about this passage, brought a little bit

of heat in his address about this passage.

But this was right before his self-titled

commentary series on the Old Testament

came out. And Zachariah was one of the first,

I think it was actually the first book in

that series. So big chapter

in a big book, again, on

eschatological thought and what those things look like.

So as we jump into Zachari chapter 14, this passage in chapter contains a cosmic picture.
