We believe so. And that's certainly the opinion of our guests coming on. State Senator Shannon Grove, she's a Republican from Bakersfield. And she is the author of

Senate Bill 14, which has taken a long, difficult road to finally meet one of the last stages,

which will be a full vote by the Assembly coming up sometime before the legislature

adjourns for the year on September 14th.

This bill today got through the State Assembly Appropriations Committee. As you know, a few months

ago, we covered it trying to get through the Public Safety Committee, which was quite a journey.

And what it does is it goes after child sex traffickers. That's right. Stronger prison terms for people who sell children for sex.

A serious felony, in the word serious is key because that will lead to stronger penalties.

So let's bring her on the air and discuss what happened today.

There apparently were some minor amendments it's being called.
