Periodically, we zero in on a case of somebody who's about to be paroled after committing

a terrible murder.

And this one is Damien Matthew Guerrero.

It was convicted in 2008 for fatally shooting, an 18-year-old woman by the name of Kelly Bullwinkle in a Redlands Orange Grove that happened

in September of 2003.

This is not the first time he's been up for parole.

He was not underage at the crime at the time of the crime.

But again, it's because it looks like he reached some sort of a plea deal

because the jury came close to convicting him in March 2005,

but deadlocked on first-degree murder.

Yeah.

One idiot hung up the jury.

So Guerrero eventually pled guilty to second degree murder with an enhancement for

using a gun. He got 15 years to life. Which means he's up for parole every few years and that's where we are now.

Every few years, apparently so. So the family and friends have had to fight this and Kelly's mother

was doing that for a while. But unfortunately, she passed away in 2014 at the age of 54.

There's Diana Bullwinkle.

So it's been, and she was a petty officer in the U.S. Coast Guard.
