Welcome, everybody. Well, there was a court appearance today in San Francisco for the man accused of attacking Paul Pelosi at the Pelosi home early in the morning last week.

And, of course, he ended up hammering Paul Pelosi in the head and causing some serious injuries.

This is the state case against this man. Let's go to Alex Stone, ABC News for KFI, for how this went down today.

Hey there, guys. Yeah, so it wrapped up about an hour ago. And David DePap, walking into court, orange jail jumpsuit, right arm in a sling. And face had a mask on. You know uh looked coherent uh long combed back hair not crazy

looking but not necessarily well kept but a couple of days in jail a few days in the hospital

that may be more of why he didn't look like uh you know he was totally he had just taken a shower

and then gotten ready but but walked in perfect posture you

know seemed almost kind of a bounce to his step but now the the court proceedings get

going and he entered a plea of not guilty he was a short hearing only a couple of

minutes long but he's denying all of the allegations hold on I have a question sir

didn't he already confess to police?

Well, yeah, that's what police and prosecutors say.

So, yeah, so they came in.

That's stupid game.

Yeah, so he entered the plea.

Now, part of the reason for the not guilty plea may be that his public defender says,

I don't even know this guy.

He says, I haven't even seen the police reports. I was just assigned to him. And, you know, so I'm sure he told him, look, we don't know each other,

just go in there and say not guilty and we'll figure this out because he told us this outside.

As of right now, I haven't even seen the police reports. I met my client last night for a brief meeting for the first time.

So I'm no lawyer, but I think that the advice would be, you know what?
