Something really strange happened yesterday on the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontana and off-duty

LA County Sheriff's Deputy shot dead by Fontana Police on the course. He was suffering some

kind of mental breakdown. We've got Blake to explain what he knows. Welcome.

Yeah, John. So I want to begin by saying right now we've got very limited information from police.

So some of the painting we're going to be doing in between the lines is really coming from what neighbors are saying.

I was able to speak to a couple of eyewitnesses. so we'll tie what they had to say into this.

The information that we have is that yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shots fired

call at a home near the golf course. The home is on a cul-de-sac right off the golf course.

Neighbors tell me some sort of dispute went down at the home, and the deputy identified as

45-year-old Alejandro Diaz shot rounds inside the

home. I'm not sure when this part went down exactly if this was before or after those shots were

fired, but this neighbor says he saw some of the dispute go down. This guy lives just across the street.

Well, I've seen what appeared to be a mel intoxicated and his family members

were trying to restrain him and pull him back into the garage. I just thought it was just a regular

domestic dispute. Can you give us a little bit more detail as to what exactly you saw what their

efforts looked like? It just looked like somebody that was intoxicated and their family was trying to stop

them from driving.

Now at some point the guy leaves on foot with two handguns.
