Boy, this came flying out of nowhere.

You'd have to be probably about 60 years old,

or a little older to have a conscious memory as a young child of the Charles Manson murders.

Charles Manson was a cult leader in California, and he had a number of men and women follow him, follow his orders.

And eventually over a period of three days between August 8th and August 10th,

169 here in Los Angeles, they went on a murder spree. They killed five people on the night

of August 8th and 9th, including the pregnant famous actress Sharon Tate, she was eight and a half

months pregnant,

along with four others.

And then the following evening,

the Manson family killed the supermarket executive Leno Labianca and his wife,

Rosemary.

Leslie Van Houten was involved in the La Bianca killings, and she stabbed Rosemary La Bianca

16 times with a knife.

Some of those stab wounds came after she was already dead.

She actually severed Rosemary's spine with one of the stabbing motions.

It's just a dreadful, horrific, one of the darkest chapters in LA history.
