Well, we're going to begin this hour with a subject that has been making headlines from California,

although in fact, I even ran to somebody this weekend who asked me about it.

You see, back in 2020, when George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis,

politicians from all over the country were trying to find a way to, how else do I put it,

capitalize that with some sort of major change.

We followed a lot of their actions over the years.

One thing that happened in

California was Assembly Bill 3121. And here it is, the task force to study and develop reparations

proposals for African Americans, with a special consideration for African Americans who are

descendants of persons enslaved in the United States.

So here we are three years later, and they're pretty much done and coming out with their recommendations. It has immediately raised a firestorm because the recommendations include

millions of dollars in payments. State doesn't have the money, first of all. We even caused Gavin Newsom last week to say something that everyone jumped on when he said,

well, you know, it's not just about cash payments.

Sort of downplaying.

Well, because there was an estimate that it would cost California $800 billion,

which would be almost three times our annual budget.

$800 billion.
