This missing sub that went down looking for the Titanic, and ironically, seems to have gone down itself and is lost right in that same area.

So what is the latest on this?

Five people on board, most of them pretty wealthy.

We don't know if they're alive, but there may be some signs to give us hope.

Alex Stone is our ABC News correspondent, and he's been covering this.

Alex, more noises coming from the depths, it sounds like.

Yeah, hey there, Chris.

So we know that there is a P3 Canadian submarine hunter aircraft that has been putting

sonar buoys into the water water and that they are hearing noises.

It started late yesterday.

They have been getting banging noises or pinging noises today as well.

And bottom line, they don't know what they are.

Is it the five men banging from inside of the Titan for help?

They don't know.

Is it something else in the water and there's a lot of science involved and how the audio

moves in the water and what would creed sounds like that?

But Captain Jamie Frederick today, he says that they started hearing the noises yesterday.

They have been searching that area.

They have found nothing.

He's saying, we don't know what they are, to be frank with you. The P3 detected noises. That's why they're up there. That's why they're doing what they're doing. That's why they put sonar buoys in the water. The good news is, what I can tell you is we're searching in the area where the noises were detected, and we'll continue to do so.
