Well, we start with where we almost ended up the show last night.

Violence on the Metro.

It's got a couple of stories for you, but the one that broke on our show last night concerned the Los Angeles Police Department, a sergeant.

But Steve was on top of this story late in the show yesterday.

Patrolling the Metro Red Line at Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue and East Hollywood.

It happened yesterday morning. Let's bring Steve on for more detail on the story. A crazy guy, a bit, at least part of his pinky off,

Steve. Yeah, you know, then the guy thankfully is doing well. We're talking about a sergeant with the

LAPD. He was also injured in his forehead. It was severely bruised in his forehead, too, I was told.

So we are getting a lot more detail than we had yesterday when we wrote the story.

It started yesterday, morning around 10, 15, when the sergeant and two officers noticed this

man boarding the red line near the Santa Monica, Vermont Station, or at the Santa Monica

and Vermont Station, rather, saw him boarding with drug paraphernalia, which is basically

he had a meth pipe and some other stuff on him. So they went on the train to confront

him, and if they were escorting him off the train back onto the platform, that's when he became agitated and turned violent.

This is the LAPD's version of the event.

At which time, the sergeant had had his hand near enough the suspect to where he was able to bite off a portion of his right pinky.

And we're told that the man also was injured so much that he was also taken to a hospital,
