Well, a story we're not going to let go of, and we had the second Riverside County Sheriff's

Deputy killed in the line of duty in just two weeks. Friday afternoon, Deputy Darnell Calhoun

was answering a domestic violence call. It turned out to be a child custody case,

and he was shot as he approached the home in question in an area of Lake Elsinore.

And Steve Gregory, of course, has been covering this story since it broke Friday afternoon,

and he's here with a further update.

The suspect is Jesse Devaro, and he was shot by a cop. Right. And is still in the

hospital. So what do you know? And that's precisely why we don't know anymore,

because I found out that he remains in critical condition, unconscious, and they cannot book him

yet. And we're not going to get any information or details on this guy until after he's been

officially booked.

Where was he shot?

Don't know where he was shot, but in critical condition, you know, it's either got to be center mass or in the head, you know, and something like that.

So I either got to get out of the hospital or die before we find out more on this guy.

Well, no, if he's conscious, if he gets in, if he's

cleared by doctors, because there have been times before when someone's been booked in a hospital

while they're there, but he's got to be conscious and aware what's going on, or that's a violation

of Miranda Rights. So they're waiting for him to be cleared, basically. And then detectives,

they've got to be able to speak with him because apparently they haven't

been able to interview him or talk with him.
