Mm-hmm. It's the night before Iron Man Kona, 2017, and we just sat down with John Joseph.

He's an age grouper, not a pro. A lot of people might not know him, but those that do know him are rabid fans of his. We just did a podcast interview with him and NTK Instagram storied it a little bit, and the crowd went wild.

Yeah, if you don't know him from triathlon, then you will know him from the punk rock scene because he's the lead singer of a punk rock band.

But his story is unlike, I would hazard to say there is no other triathlete on the planet with a story like

his. Very true. And there's nobody else on the planet that can tell the story like his.

Yeah, and if your children are listening to these podcasts, they can't listen to this one,

unless you're a liberal household who doesn't mind children hearing a lot of swears,

because every second word probably is something sharp.

Yeah, John Joseph, he grew up in Manhattan and Queens in the roughest times in the 70s and 80s, got bounced

around through foster homes, was at one point selling angel dust and crack and hooked on angel

dust and crack and managed to turn his life around through veganism, triathlon, and now follows

principles of Buddhism and the Hari Krishna's.

He is one of the most interesting people I think I've ever met or talked to.

And hopefully the podcast listeners will feel the same.
