Greetings, greetings. Greetings from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Amish country, and welcome back to the 59 degrees north podcast.

It's snowing outside and supposed to go down to five degrees tonight, and I'm about as far away as you can get from sailing water area, but I'll tell you what,

it feels great.

Mia and I just moved into our new house, New Year's Eve, and I took the opportunity this morning

to talk to John Harries, who has the website Morganscloud.com.

It's called Attainable Adventure Cruising, is what the title of the website is. His boat is

called Morgan's Cloud, so that's where the name of the website came from. Anyway, John, I've been

following his website for a couple of years now. I don't remember when I first found out about it,

but it's a phenomenal resource for anybody thinking about going offshore and outfitting a boat

and places to go and things to see.

It's just a great, really cool website.

It's kind of off the beaten track of what you read about in the magazines and hear every

time about what makes a good boat, this and that, the other thing.

Anyway, John, I'm going to have him back on to

talk about his own sailing career because he's been to the Arctic and done a really lot of high

latitude sailing is a 56-foot aluminum boat that he refit himself. A lot of interesting stuff there.

But what we talked about in this podcast today was the announcement of what he calls the Adventure 40, which is a new

sailing yacht that he kind of came up with a couple years ago and which is actually going to

happen now. The premise of it is a inexpensive, very simple, very robust offshore cruising boat that a couple can take around the world

for not a lot of money and it's got everything you need in an offshore boat and everything you,

and doesn't have anything you don't need. And it's just, it is absolutely right up my alley. It's
