John Gray gave his first sermon at 21 years old to his childhood congregation at the

Bethel Baptist Church in his hometown of Cincinnati. A year later he was asked to join Grammy-winning

Gospel singer Kirk Franklin on tour, but John felt a deep spiritual calling back to the

pulpit. After two years on the road, he left the tour to preach. As word spread of his

unique ability to connect with diverse congregations, John Gray caught the attention of the leaders

of Lakewood Church. In 2013 Joel Olstein invited John to lead the Winds

Tonight service at Lakewood, within three years attendance quadrupled. Joel Olstein wrote

the forward for John's book called, I am number eight, overlook and undervalued, but

not forgotten by God. John and his family are now starring in a show on own, a docu-series

called the Book of John Gray. John and his wife, Aventure, are managing their jobs to

busy children and in-laws while ministering people through life's toughest challenges.
