Summary

It's the Saturday Show and we are airing Mikes appearance The Oath and the Office, hosted by Brown University political science professor Corey Brettschneider and comedian John Fugelsang. The trio dives into the broken pipeline of modern journalism, the unique occupational hazards of political comedy, and FCC Chairman Brendan Carr's "stochastic self-censorship" campaign against late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert. Plus, Mike pushes back on the narrative surrounding CBS News and Bari Weiss, sparking a spirited debate on whether traditional journalistic objectivity still holds up when democratic institutions are under attack. We could have an umpah band.

0:39.7

We could possibly sell zithers on the corner. No, we should put Fuglesang and Brett Schneider, Brett Schneider and Fuglesang, united in the podcast form.

0:46.2

This podcast will be called The Oath in the Office, and we will one day invite Mike Peska.

And that all came to pass, as did the Umpa band. But that's another

story for another time, for this time on this day. Mike Peska, that's me, Fuglesing, and Brett

I'm wearing true Work right now. No joke. And it's not exactly because I was going outside on a winter job site, but I was mucking about in the snow. And True Work builds performance workwear like it matters because it matters. You want the history?

There was a trade professional.

It was also a smart guy who knew fabrics and said, if I wear these jeans, they just get soaking wet.

1:43.5

And then if you compare it to brands like I'll name them, Carhart and Dickies, their traditional cotton base gear, it gets heavy when wet.

1:45.8

And it's just not the same or the case with true work, advanced performance fabrics. Of course they have the moisture wicking. What do you think?

1:51.8

They're going to put you out there in the world without the wicking, the best wicking this way

that comes, and they're wind- wind resistant and they're insulated.

And I gotta say they're good looking, they're cool looking.
