Dennis talks to John Eastman, former legal advisor to President Trump and former professor of law at Chapman University. The state of California is seeking to disbar Eastman for his role in advising President Trump. This action is a scandal of the first order. If you’re living with someone, why aren’t you married? Callers have stories. The Columbia Journalism Review, hardly a right-wing publication, confirms that the NY Times repeatedly, consistently, and with malice aforethought lied about the Russian Trump collusion story. In short, they made it all up, fabricated it from whole cloth. They are lying liars. Will they ever apologize? Don’t hold your breath.

0:12.0 | Hello, everybody! |
0:24.0 | Hi, everybody. Welcome to the Dennis Prager Show. I am immediately going to go to my guest. |
0:31.0 | Former lawyer for President Trump and Professor of Law at Chapman University Law School, John Eastman, who I have known for many years and who has been a guest on this show many times. |
0:48.0 | And we are going to get his side of the story. The California bar wants to disbar him. |
0:57.0 | And why? Well, I think I know why, but let's find out from John Eastman. |
1:04.0 | John Eastman, welcome back to the Dennis Prager Show. |
1:08.0 | Thank you so much, Dennis. It's a real pleasure to be back on your program. I hope you're doing well. |
1:13.0 | Well, my standard answer for the last three years is better than my country. |
1:20.0 | Yeah, no, we are in a crisis, the likes of which we've only seen a couple of times in our nation's history. And precious few people on our side of the political aisle seem to be aware of the precipice we're on. |
1:36.0 | The only difference I have with you is I don't think it was a couple of times. I think it was once the Civil War. I don't think there was this dark period of time in American history. |
1:48.0 | Anyway, let's get to your state. So first, let's get the current condition. |
1:55.0 | Is this a formal process they have announced they wish to disbar you? What is happening? |
2:02.0 | Well, so this began with kind of a hyperpartisan political group called States United Democracy Center filing complaint against me with this California bar back in October of 2021. |
2:17.0 | And of course, that triggers either a cursory or a more substantial investigation in response to the allegations in the complaint. |
2:26.0 | All of that process is supposed to be confidential. But last March, coincidentally, the evening before a major brief was due in a legal dispute I was having with the January 6 committee over privileged documents. |
2:43.0 | The state bar announced that they were conducting an investigation and violation of the statute on confidentiality exercising an exception at that statute that they could announce an investigation that the lawyer they were investigating was a threat to the public. |
2:59.0 | This is rather extraordinary, not surprisingly that that announcement made its way into the brief that was filed the very next day by the January 6 committee. |
3:09.0 | I'm sure that was just all coincidence. The bar then gave me a couple months later, an extraordinary 38 page letter, single spaced, demanding essentially every bit of evidence, every communication I had with my clients, every support for every line and every brief that I filed on behalf of the president or every statement I made in public on the media or every article I published about the election. |
3:35.0 | And despite the extraordinary nature of that, we decided to respond in a very comprehensive fashion and provided them 100 page response crossing the teeth and dotting the eyes on every bit of evidence, every sworn affidavit, every expert report, every legal scholarship article and every Supreme Court case of precedent that I relied on in my various activities on behalf of the president. |
3:59.0 | We filed that last September, but it apparently did not move them and last week they filed formal charges against me. |
